Scheduling Tips and Additional Info

New scheduling method

In our efforts to improve our services and keep up with demand, we have upgraded our appointment scheduling system. We appreciate your patience as we work out any system issues. At this time, we no longer share a scheduling system with Multi-service Center and Centerstone.

If you live in South King County, please call Multi Service Center at 253-517-2263 or visit msc.itfrontdesk.com.

Struggling to get an appointment

We understand it can be frustrating to get a busy signal repeatedly or hear that the schedule is full. Please know we experience a high volume of calls every day. Hopelink currently schedules energy assistance appointments several weeks out. New appointments are opened each week on Monday mornings at 9am. If you call the line and get a message saying no appointments are available, we recommend calling back at 9am on the next Monday morning. Hopelink offers appointments from Mid-October into the summer months each year. It is typically easier to get through during the spring and summer months when call volumes and demand have gone down. We are not in danger of running out of funding and if you keep trying, you will get an appointment.

Difficulty paying your bill before your appointment

Hopelink recommends contacting your energy provider if you are having difficulty paying your bill. Options such as payment arrangements and budget plans may be available to you.

If you use electricity or natural gas and already scheduled an energy appointment, contact your energy provider with your appointment details and confirmation number. This may temporarily delay the disconnection process.

Please continue paying towards your bill, even if you already have an appointment. Scheduling an appointment does not guarantee an energy grant will be paid to your account.

If your account is in danger of disconnection and you are unable to schedule an appointment with us, we recommend calling the Community Information Line at 2-1-1. They can direct you to other agencies in your area that might have emergency funding.

Hopelink's funding and eligibility

Eligibility for Hopelink's energy assistance is based on income and your account does not have to be past due to get help.

Hopelink has funding for 2 different grants, LIHEAP and PSE HELP. The season starts in October and continues until funding is gone. Our LIHEAP grant is federally funded and pays toward your primary heat source, which can be Electricity, Natural gas, Oil, Propane, or Wood. Our second grant, the PSE Help grant, is a supplemental grant for Puget Sound Energy customers.
